Macau to Zhuhai: A Guide to Dental Implants

I never expected dental care to be so complicated, but thankfully, I finally found a suitable implant dentist to solve my problem.

I didn’t know how to protect my teeth when I was younger. A tooth was severely decayed, so I had it extracted. The doctor recommended getting a dental implant, but my family thought missing a tooth was no big deal—after all, many people live with it. I was actually interested in implants, but the prices in Macau were exorbitant, so I put it off.

Recently, I watched a dental video where a doctor explained that long-term tooth loss can cause other teeth to shift. My missing tooth had been gone for years, so I got worried. I consulted several Macau dentists, but the costs were staggering. A friend introduced me to Director Chen Yunping at Zhuhai Vickong Dental. I’d never seen a doctor on the mainland before, so I was hesitant.

After researching online and learning that Vickong offers free X-rays, I decided to give it a try. Director Chen’s examination was incredibly thorough, and I was impressed by both his professionalism and the affordable prices. Eventually, I chose to have my implant done here.

The implant procedure went smoothly. Afterward, the nurse instructed me not to brush my teeth for 24 hours, avoid irritating the wound, and return for a follow-up. The service at Zhuhai Vickong Dental was truly excellent.

Many friends don’t understand why I crossed to the mainland for an implant. For the same Nobel PCC implant, Macau clinics charge at least 25,000 MOP, while Zhuhai only costs 12,800 RMB. More importantly, Director Chen is a master’s graduate and former chief of a top-tier mainland hospital, with extensive experience in dental implants. After all, an implant is a surgery—having a skilled doctor is crucial!

Though the process of finding a dentist wasted much time, I’m lucky to have found Director Chen. My implanted tooth looks and functions like a real one, and I’m thrilled to eat normally again.
